Built to Run
The Terra Scorcher.....there's no two way's about it....it is an odd looking beast. Having had it on the bench for a while I'm still not 100% sure what it is I'm actually looking at. Is it a racing moon buggy? Is it a fighter plane/space ship hybrid thing? I just don't know. But that's just what Tamiya do and what keeps things interesting.
A Terra Scorcher wasn't on my my radar until I started looking into the Chassis and what you get in the box. So once I realised that Uni Drive Shafts, CVA's AND Ball Bearings where included in the kit It started to make more sense to have one in the fleet as care free put a battery in and run it without adding on an infinite amount of Hop Ups for a capable, reliable car. That is apart from the pesky A5 on the front end which has been changed to an aluminium aftermarket one, I did the back one too while I was at it. I also decide to replace all the Screw pins with E-Clip Suspension shafts as well. Hummmm what was I saying about no Hop Ups required?? Sucked in again.
I've but a 21t RC Core Brushed motor in fed by 2s LiPo via a Hobbywing 1060 ESC and has plenty of pep with a 15t Steel Pinion for my needs.
I went plain and simple on the paint scheme fading PS5 Black on the nose into PS59 Dark Metallic Blue & PS17 Metallic Green backed with Black. Finished off with a few stickers. I would have liked to have painted in some Yellow accents but it was near impossible to get to a shop to get some Yellow paint so went with what I had in the end.
The maiden test run proved that the Terra Scorcher is a very capable buggy and handles beautifully being a real joy to drive, and I'm definitely looking forward to more outings with it.

I think you've done a great job on it, and it's nice to see it kicking up some dirt. Great shots!

Nice clean look there Ken, great job. Inspiring me to do something with my original, as its current look doesn’t do it for me. I think this body likes darker colours. Although @Ferruz’s car suggests that flouros work as well. Hmmm, choices

Thanks Fella’s.
I know what you mean mtbkym01, I deliberated for days, we’ll probably weeks actually of putting some of the kit strip stickers on but my wife talked me out of it, and I still have them so I could change it later if want to, very happy with now though

Nice action shots and very nice paintjob. I'm not a fan of space designs but this paintjob makes this more in a buggy, I really like it.
