Finally got my Regulator chassis completed, and just in time for its first race this weekend. While it is expensive, the chassis is very well built and goes together perfectly. It also performs extremely well and the truck behaves perfectly, definitley the best Clod based truck I've ever driven and I've had a few...I also used the JConcepts BTA steering kit and that is a nice piece as well. Best steering Clod I've ever had, even better than vertical on axle mounts. The chassis works so well due to the heavy brass plate that is mounted in the belly, keeps the COG as low as possible and works with the MOA design to keep the truck very planted in the turns and very stable on jumps.

Axles > Stock Clod (new plastics) with open diffs and just a bit of cera grease. Only modifications are Robinson 13t steel pinions and aluminum anti-rotation brackets. Full bearings of course.

Electronics > Hobbywing 880 ESC with JConcepts 27t sealed end bell motors (must be sealed to run in retro class). Servo is a DS3218 Pro.

Wheels/Tires > Jconcepts Tribute wheels with 11mm adpaters and blue compound Golden Years tires with cut Pro Line foams.

Body - JConcepts 1988 Silverado with USA-1 decals from MCI Racing.

That's pretty much it, very simple but effective build. Taking it out for the first time this weekend and excited to see how it does. It really drives like its on rails and jumps very well, have to remind myself I'm actually driving a Clod since it feels like no other Clod I've ever driven :)

Looks pretty sweet with USA1 bodyshell. I’m looking forward to building one myself, eventually. Huge thanks for suggesting the Marty Garza book in the forum. I ordered one on your recommendation & really enjoying it

Thanks guys. I still don't have my copy of the book, you like it? They take forever to ship it seems...

The truck did amazingly well at its first race. Took first in the retro class and it was not even close. This chassis is unbelievable, is stays so planted and is by far the easiest to drive Clod I've ever owned. Not a thing I would change on it to be honest, very pleased.

It looks great, and the fact that it did so well in its first race shows what a good job you've clearly done on the build! I love the Silverado body.
