Axial SMT10 - Bigfoot 8 Racer

This is one of my all time favorite trucks and always wanted to do a tribute so here it is. Not an exact replica as Bigfoot 8 has cantilever suspension and a few other differences, but close enough for me. This is also about as close to a shelf queen as I get. The truck was built mostly to look right as opposed to an all out race truck, but it actually ended up being a pretty decent truck after having to make some modifications out of necessity.

The truck is a pretty basic SMT10. Only modifications are a short wheelbase kit and RH Designs sway bars. Power comes from a 3660 3800kv motor and it goes pretty good. Shocks were lowered with 12mm spacers and mounted on the axles for a bit more realism. Body is a JConcepts 89 Ford with JB Scale Graphics Bigfoot Racer decals. Wheel are JConcepts Tributes with Golden Years tires and custom foams.

Truck actually turned out to perform pretty well. Played with the shocks a lot to get them to work properly and settled on 4-hole pistons with 20wt oil and 1.2lb springs, they're about as soft as they can get and the truck sags just a bit when you put it down. Even with the big tires it handles really well due to the shock angles and I amy actually bring it to a race this month to see how it does. Definitely doesn't perform as well as a link mounted shock truck, but it's pretty close and very good in it's own way.

Last couple photos are with it's brother, the TXT-2 Bigfoot 11. They look great together. Gives a great 90s vibe.
