Recreation of the iconic Ford Ranger XLT.
I'm a huge fan of vintage Tamiya RC buggies. This is One of the car's that caught my eye when I was young but couldn't afford back in 1984. With the SS rerelease chassis and parts availability. Its easy to recreate one.
The body is a rere Blackfoot converted to Ranger, built back in 2019. It sat on a CC01 chassis which didn't age well in my opinion. The stance of the vintage SRB set up is just so right for the Ranger. Can't beat a classic metal chassis.
Not perfect to some people but for me, the overall looks with the chassis just screams 80's classic!
Anyways, about the built, the chassis is from a rere Sand Scorcher, Ford Ranger Body posts from ebay. Wheels & tyres from Subaru Brat spray painted in decorative chrome.
Rere Blackfoot body painted in TS39 pure blue with MCI decals. Rear tonneau screw holes deleted to make it simple. Antenna and On/Off switch hidden and relocated.
Thanks for looking and Happy Rc.

They’ve released the scorcher, the racing buggy (champ) and the super champ, why they haven’t released this??

love it !
I've been putting off restoring mine for far too long !
I really like the idea of doing away with the cutout for the switch.

Many thanks for the comments guys. @stulec52, i just kept the tonneau cover very simple, I did try a roll bar on but it just didn’t look right for me.

Looks lovely, the F-150 Ranger XLT was my first Tamiya too. Still have the chassis.

Great build , after many years of searching for parts at the right price, I've now a roller too. Hope that I can come close to this level of finish.
