Hi everyone, l have now finished my Super Hotshot and the total cost came to about   £100 in total so l would say a real Bargain! I probably will still hunt out the original gold wheels with pin spike tyres at some point but quite happy with the set l have on right now and the chrome goes well l think! What do you think guys??
The Super Hotshot/ Super Shot is such a bad ass looking buggy and along with the Hotshot an absolutely classic buggy. I am Super happy to have this to go with my Hotshot! Come on Tamiya we need the original HS2 now!!! Sorry the BHM just will not satisfy! Haha but still wouldn't say no!!
Anyway l finally had the weather and took some pics today and included my Hotshot also as its great to see them together! Hope you like them and comments welcome cheers James.
Update 18/2/23 got the correct wheels/tyres ordered just needs that golden touch!

7 Super Hotshot AKA Supershot 4 My £100 Super Hotshot...Super happy! 2 Do the wheels/tyres work on this?? 2 Two Legends! 2 Two bad ass buggies! 2 He looks ready to rumble! 1 GT Tuned power! Ebay picture! 3 Tamiya Super Hotshot 4 Thanks for looking guys! 2 Sweet! 3 Hopefully l will be doing more of this soon! 1 Picked up a set of used correct wheels/tryes! 1 Will get a new set when they are available.

Lovely build James, and as you know from my showroom I love this car, but for me mate it needs the gold wheels with pin spike tyres, but maybe I'm being boring?! Haha! What a bargain though. Definitely an inflation busting purchase, and there's not many of those around today. Well done buddy

Awesome James! one of my fav buggy.. oh well maybe some I will get one too. I think the VQS wheels painted in gold with pin spike tires will look really cool. Retro and yet modern at the same time haha.

Great outcome, the wheels look good, but I’m a bit with Bubba, Goldie’s with pin spikes make the Super Shot IMO. One of mine in my showroom also has different wheels so they definitely have a place on this buggy, but the Goldie’s still get the win for me.

Thanks guys really appreciate your great comments and feedback and definitely agree with you about the wheels/tyres l will be on the look out for a gold/spiked set! The chrome ones will do nicely for running but yeah this needs the real boots on it! Anyone got a set for sale?

They do look very good together on the beach. I know for sure I could not have resisted the urge to drive those, it would physically hurt to put them on an empty beach, take pictures, pick them up and walk away. Oh boy that trembling throttle finger LOL.

Not bad at all! And awesome shots! However I'm a tad disappointed from not seeing you surfing in the background there mate!

Imao mate l am still practicing of course! That would be a great competition entry for lets say a topic of other hobbies alongside RC, me surfing in the distance with a action beach shot of a buggy up close! Iol lt would take some amazing timing and l would not look a pretty sight but imagine that! Thanks buddy.

Looks like a great set of tarmac tyres, how soft are they?

MAD-BEE

Taffer they are nice and soft but no inserts! They will definitely do a nice job generally though l feel!

Brilliant photos James - they both look awesome and wheel/body colour look fab.

Really appreciate all the comments you post to try and keep this site alive btw - this club is such a great resource and bank of cars and information/manuals etc that nothing on facebook or the likes can compete with

I do try and promote Tamiyaclub on FB when I post there as it was what got me back into the hobby.

Keep them coming fella - hope Cornwall life is warmer than Aberdeen (I do miss it some days)

I'm not here often enough, but when I pop in Wow, it's so fun to see the posts. The Hotshot was my aspirational kit when I entered the RC hobby in 1985.

Back then box art was an unknown idea to me. Any modifications, paint work, or decals were encouraged and par for the course. One of the best things about Tamiya's kits in my view is that one knows what they are in any derivation.

Yeah its interesting Cameron PS how back in the day boxart certainly didn't have the same meaning to us as it does now! I almost feel the need to do boxart on my car's nowadays to show my respect and loyalty to Tamiya! Back in the day we were young and full of ourselves and thought to hell with that tamiya I can do loads better! Iol. I always did like boxart though but totally see where you are coming from on that especially the decals I used to stick anything and everything on my cars! especially during the early years in the hobby! Cheers mate.
