Hi guys, over the years I have had many DT-01 and DT-02 chassis but l have never experienced the DT-03 so l finally at last got myself a DT-03 chassis and the version is the Neo Fighter buggy.
I picked this up for £50 as a ballraced rolling chassis with just the steering servo included and its in pretty good condition! I know l could pick a new one up for Peanuts as these are budget buggies but l can't be bothered to cut and paint the body shell etc to be honest! Lazy!! I do actually like the metallic blue paint on this too though! I have added to this some Neo fighter buggy/frog decals and thrown in a light brushless setup with a steel 19t pinion and obviously added 2.4 radio too!
What do you guys think of DT-03 chassis?? I've heard pretty good things and seen some good things on the DT-03 so definitely looking forward to taking it out for its first run. This seems to have a nice wide stance but quite low ground clearance though we will see! I must admit I'm not a great fan of modern stuff unless it's rere! but at least this Neo Fighter has that link with the legendary frog and I know it's only decals and the curves at the front of the body but psychologically it's got me convinced haha!
Guys any tips on these and comments are welcome cheers james.

That'll be great fun James! The shelf queen's are nice, but having cars that you can bash to destruction without worrying too much are great too! Haha. Enjoy mate.

Nice pick up mate. I’m sure you will have some great fun with this one. I didn’t realise how similar the body was to the Frog until seeing it sat next to one. Must be why the Frog decals look so good on them.

Thanks guys, yeah Phil its a happy balance of shelfers and runners that is key for me! I will say though as the years tick on l do appreciate more now displaying my cars so do have more on the shelves then l do on the runners bench. Don't get me wrong buddy l do still get a lot of joy from driving these cars and especially in the summer and of course an injection of nostalgia when driving vintage or rere cars! so definitely not ready to pack up my batteries and transmitters yet!
But mate l will leave the bash to destruction to Kevin Talbot lol.
@Re-Bugged yeah mate that body front end is on the money!
I think tamiya should do more with a link to past legends! Its like a show of respect to the greats! its a great idea and simple in the case of the DT-03 chassis! I surpose tamiya have done more thinking about with the TD2 & TD4.
I still might get another shell to do the pink/white frog theme on my DT-03 yet l will see? Tempted now!

That's a great idea mate. Get another shell and do it! I'm sure Tamiya's missed a trick here. You know I like mixing it up a bit, so I'd love to see you do that to this!

Phil I think when this is done the Neo Fighter buggy is called the DT-03 Neo mighty Frog! Must admit very tempted and l love the pink/white on the Frog!

Nice find, mate! Looking real good in blue pants too. I've always been attracted to this platform, since it's cheap and looks great but should still be a good performer! I'm sure you'll love bashing this one around... maybe some action shots at the beach next!? Enjoy!

The colour is even nicer up close in person Ferruz has a nice sparkle too! Yeah mate me too have been thinking of given the DT-03 a go for a while and pleased to finally pick one up! The DT-03 is silly cheap, great value even nibs whether its the Neo Fighter or Racing Fighter, they do that truck too but l think that's more cash! but like you said it's a decent platform for little money especially with oil shocks, torque tuned motor, esc included as standard. I will be definitely hitting the beach with this when it gets a bit warmer and will drive it like l stole it too! Haha! Thanks buddy.

Very cool James! For what these DT03´s are, and how cheap they are, these are great fun runners. Especially when doing them with some Vintage flavour themes, they are really charming in my eyes. There were some great Grasshopper and Hornet themed Dt03´s here on TC already. I also made some kind of Fighting buggy DT03 last year for running with my nephew and his DT03. You can take a look here: [Click here]
But yours is great already, and maybe you really should do one shell equal to your Frog from colours. Would look nice beneath each other I guess! Have fun with it!

Thanks buddy yeah that DT-03 Neo Super Champ looks fantastic!
Member Truck Norris has done some excellent DT-03 too l think he did the Frog, Hornet, Grasshopper if l remember right! These do seem to be an excellent canvas to work with!
Like you say bonus is these have a decent performance at an absolute bargain price!
Yep good job Tamiya!

As we all know DT-03 isn't a high-end buggy, but it certainly is a durable, easy maintenance, easy to get spare parts in reasonable prices. It's like a newer version of old Grasshopper, Hornet chassis in current time. I'm sure it ran good to when you took it out on the beach. Just enjoy it James!!

Yep like l always say the DT-03 is a Tamiya modern day classic! Cheers Ben take it easy mate.
