Having put together a temporary 4WD Scorcher on a Kyosho Javelin chassis, a more permanent option was always on my mind.

As another Kyosho chassis never materialised I started looking at other options. I wasn't using my Terra Scorcher, drove nice but never fully connected with it. So once I discovered that a Blitzer Beetle front body mount I had in the spares box bolted straight on the front shock tower I was half invested in that idea. The rear mount was made of some aluminium & adapted plastic extension body posts that was also in stock, bonus.
The only hitch was the Orange SS body I used on the Javelin would need its nose trimmed to clear the front shocks. I wasn't to keen on that and offering up a Monster Beetle body the nose on that cleared the shocks, the Spotties on the front looked great as well. Just a Monster Beetle body on its own was proving difficult to find at a reasonable price. So I went with a standard SS body from TTP plus a Blitzer Beetle nose. Perfect.
I did toy with doing a take on a Terra Scorcher paint job on it or a Blitzer Beetle variant. I have also been wanting to try a Chequered pattern of some sort. All the while the 53's laying in the open Giulia box kept winking at me. So a Baja Herbie it was.
I usually use Dupli-colour for hard bodies but aren't stocked here anymore. I came across a couple of tins on clearance in a regional town by chance so Silver & Light Blue instead of the traditional White for an added twist plus some Decals from the sticker stash for something a bit different. Finished off with Satin Chrome Kyosho Turbo Scorpion Wheels all round.
This was a fun little project and I'm pretty happy with it.

Thanks for looking in.

Not only is this what the Blitzer always should have been but the body is just painted to perfection.

Thanks fella’s, I was never really a beach person till I got into RC. It’s worth the sand in your shoes for sure.
