This is the Baja Champ I got for myself when I bought the Mad Bulls for my sons. The car was my return to R/C and Tamiya after a 20 year ish break.

I added bearings and an ESC (Mtronics ECO27) when I got it in June 2003, and it's given me plenty of fun Summer and Autumn running. I've now added stainless suspension pins, hybrid shocks (Carson tops, Tamiya bottoms) and have just added an LRP Buggy Special motor (not as powerful as the rebuildable stocks, but hopefully not so powerful that it will blow my ECO27).

I chose a metallic blue and gold wheels as I liked the Subura Impreza colours, and the gold wheels are starting to become a bit of a theme on my cars.

4th March 2004 - I've taken out the Buggy Special and ECO27 to put into other cars, and treated the Champ to a Trinity P2K2 Pro motor (27/2) and an Mtroniks Sonic 4 ECO20 speedo. Had to move the location of the speedo, as the new ones are slightly larger than the old version 3. First impressions (running in the dining room) are that the car seems to be as fast as the touring cars I race, so I'm pleased with that. The first test run will be at the Spring Drive in Snetterton, looking forward to seeing how it behaves now.
10th March 2004 - Well, I ran the Champ at Snetterton, and it was excellent. Very fast, a little uncontrollable on the track but that was more due to the pin tyres and wet track than the motor power. I got a few comments on the speed of the car, which was nice. I'm looking forward to the weather getting a little better now, and I can try it on the dirt.
