Bought this on ebay in August 2002. It came with radio, ESC, purple shocks and a trinity modified motor for $73(USD). It's really fast, due to the modified motor. My fastest car. I have some work to do on this one still. Sometimes it just stops. I suspect the esc is shutting down due to heat (it's been very hot lately). The previous owner had the brilliant idea of *cutting* the front fenders a bit to improve tire clearance. I'll replace the body while they are still available at Tower. I have the mirrors safely stored in the box.

Update 12/21/2002 I got a new body from Tower, but still need the the lights and stuff to go with it. Now that I've had the car for awhile, I notice that the previous owner loaded it with bearings and the upgraded-heavy duty driveshaft as well as the metal motor mount. I'm embarassed to admit that I'm currently using the original driveshaft (which was in the box) as a Frog antenna. I didn't know what it was :)

The motor died, I replaced the brushes and I got a few more runs out of it before it died again. So, I brought it to my LHS to have the comm cut and new brushes added. $15(USD) later and it really screams. I thought it was fast before. Now it is unbelievable. Even with the heavy body, it's faster than my Losi XX4 and Tyrell 019 F1. I wish I knew what the specs on that motor are. the LHS guy thought it might be a 12turn. No way of knowing.

I was running it while my son was using the XX4. It was tough to keep my eye on him (he just turned 5) and the Losi while looking for oncoming traffic in the street where we play, while keeping track of the hummer. I sent it cartwheeling a number of times when I turned my head for a second to make sure everything was fine.

The fast motor has to come out. I think it will be better in the Chevy S-10. Similar chassis, just a little shorter and narrower. With a Lexan body, it has to be lighter. The Hummer is just too big and bulky to run that fast.

Update Mar-12-2003 - Wow, I just got a killer deal on another Hummer. The new one was RTR, batteries and charger and all for $66. The new one has a much nicer body than the first, it has not been cut up like my other one. The only problem with it is that it needs a new MSC (or esc) and, at some point, a front dogbone must have popped out and it chewed up the upright thing pretty badly.
