Here is greenham common where i run the cars

They dug out all the buildings when it closed. This is the end of the runway

I used to run cars up a Greenham common back in the late 80's when it was still an US air base. We used to race at a small club at the local TA in Town. Them were the days, thanks for the pics

I remember playing paintball at G.C about 9 years ago it was urban in some of the old blocks and buildings,is there nothing left there at all now??

All the living quarters have been demolished. But there are a lot of small business's set up there now. As you can see there is alot of open ground with lakes, cyclepaths/paths too.

Blimey. I remember when that place was in the news nearly every week. Those women who lived there in tents....BAN THE BOMB, CND and all that!

I was there when they were putting the missiles in,I worked for a plant hire company and the UK Gov were hiring lighting towers to go round the perimeter. I remember seeing large round scorch marks in the grass where the spare diesel jerry cans were. Someone should of told the protestors diesel isn't flammable! LOL
