My first and by far my most favorite 4WD buggy

There is something about this car. I worked an entire summer as a yard keeper in 1986 to earn my first one. It came built in its box with an old Futaba wheel radio and servos. I loved this car, I tore it down and cleaned it all and fixed broken pieces and then reassembled it. I converted it a couple of years later to an indoor dirt oval racer. I had to race with the 2WD, so I just removed the front bones and prop shaft. I even reversed the left front wheel for more pull in the corners. It would turn left great after that, no push at all, like it was on rails. I always thought, why do the wheel mounts have to be so weird, I can't buy any cool in style wheels. Well after my reversal on the left front, I didn't care anymore. I could fly and turn left just great. I had a lot of fun with this car and then sold it when I joined the Air Force. As soon as I got my head back and realized what I had done, I asked around home for another. I was given one by a fellow racer and I began the resto from there. I have bought a bunch of new parts as this 'freebie' was badly abused. Now I have all new parts and a new body set. I have had so many interuptions to the restoration, that I am sad to say after 10 years of trying, this is as far as I have gotten. I am just wanting this rebuild to be perfect and I think that is why it is taking so long.
Update, as you can see by my linking below, this model went from stock to over the top with all the parts I found to upgrade an original HotShot that were sold in the 80's.
