Like a lot of projects, this one started off innocently enough. I bought a Prerunner that needed a new body and was well played with. Then Airxtreme had one in his trade section. It had been painted green, but the chassis was nearly mark free. Then along came this hopped up chassis with a Subaru WRX body on it. I put the beautiful stock chassis under a perfect Baumler/Mobil Opel body. It is correct for the chassis and one of the nicer old Opel bodies. Then I decided I could 'save' the Prerunner body by painting the outside of it. I doubt I will do this again unless it is an impossible body to come by like the Graupner Alpine A310 I got yesterday! So I painted it and of course, as I was struggling away to make it look acceptable, one came up on the bay, NIB. It is for the Monster version, but is the same body, slightly different stickers. There was a partial set with the car I got from Anthony, so I used them on this body. So basically I used nothing from the first one I bought, swapped chassis with the one I got from Air and the other ebayer, and still need to paint the new body. I stuck this one out just to show it can be done and look good doing it. Of course the new body, 3 color paint scheme, will look better. It has a Green Monster motor and a Novak 410-mic speedo and a Tekin receiver. New tires and wheels, all ball raced and ready to sit. It amazes me how many cars they used these tires especially and these wheels. There aren't too many of these around, and I haven't seen another body since I got the one I have. Wouldn't mind picking up the other 2 trucks in this series, but I am going to look for a couple that are a little better in condition.

See what happens when you put them in the dryer? Congrats on making the 'Spotlight' column again. You've got some really great looking vehicles Bradd, and I always enjoy seeing your work. It looks like you've done a nice job of this one, but I really wouldn't expect any less of you. Keep up the good work!
