Got this in a lot I recieved yesterday. Never seen anything like it! It even has ballbearings!!! Couldn´t wait to start building so I post a picture of it halfinstalled also. Requires some drilling of the reararms. More pictures soon.

One of the notes that came in the bag says:
'RP 746 - Cantilever shock kit
This kit was designed to allow you to use the stock tamiya short rear shocks and be able to achieve maximum rear wheel travel. You may obtain different dampening leverage simply by switching upper shock mounting to other mounting hole. You may use either one or two shocks per side, depending on the weight of your car and the track conditions.'

With knowledge of the SRB´s natural behavior and construction it´s hard to see that this would improve it much (without loosing the orginal springs and going for springloaded shocks) but still a very nice looking vintage hop-up!

Interesting idea but it appears to be rather over the top! I simply stuck Long CVA shocks on the rear of my SRB and made a new upper mounting bracket for the shocks to mount higher on the roll bar and then threw the torsion spring away. That worked fine. I guess this hop-up was long before the common yellow CVA's made an appearance though! As you say though, the rear swingarm at maximum stroke would give dreadful camber angles, they should have supplied a trailing arm conversion with this as well then it would have been impressive!

Excellent - Looks like the rear end of a grasshopper (bug, not car)

Wow, there were no lack of interesting ideas when they were prepping these already heavy cars for racing. No concern over the steadely increasing weight either as it seems.
