HERE SHE IS!!!!!!! WILD WENDY!!!!!!!!

Here she is ……WILD WENDY….. This little lady is an idea I have had floating around in my head for some time. Wild willy is one of my favorite Tamiya cars and of course the main reason is the figure. The classic Willy figure is simple but so effective, so to honor it I wanted to make a figure that was different but fell in to the style of the original figure. So my concept is this, Wendy is Willie’s girlfriend, who has “borrowed” his precious jeep.

I sculpted her in sort of a Manga/Anime style to pay homage to the Japanese company we all know and love TAMIYA!!! I have sculpted her the same way I would an actual action figure, I made a rough clay to get the proportions (bosom etc HAAH!!) and make sure she will fit in the jeep as the original figure did. Then I made a mold of the clay and cast her in wax. The wax is were all the finish work goes in. The head gets it detail and the body gets its clothes etc.
When this is done then I double check the fit, then get the wax parts ready to be set into molds. This model required four molds, 1 for the head, 1 for the body, and one each for the arms. These molds were made in silicone, and then I made resin castings of the parts.

I then took the castings and cleaned them removing the flashing and filling any imperfections. Then it was on to priming for paint. I painted her using citadel acrylic paints (games workshop). I painted her t-shirt in Homage to the beautiful camo scheme that was used in the wild Willy that we are all entering the competition to win(hats off to you Fabrizio!!!!). I have about forty hours of work in this figure, from clay to final paint. Overall I am pleased with this figure. So out of my head and now for all of you to see.
