Auction win and i´m glad. Didnt think too much about these F1 cars but what the heck, price turned out to be fair after all. Came with a 1400 and a 1700 NiCd, charger radio gear ESC and all. A new set of sponge tyres is needed though. Looks real fast just standing there.[Update 25-9-05] Got a pair of wheels and tires in a set. Tires was made for F103, but did fit this F102 with a TIGHT fit on the rims. Also needed a new gearset which i got from evoman. So now it´s soon time for it´s first real race. Yes, and i´ll be putting a SportTuned in and gear it up just a bit for some race speed! [Update 13/9-06] It´s now upgraded with a Sporttuned and has been driven quite alot this summer. A totally different driving style is needed here. First it´s very fast with alot of grip in the corners under even power. But if you give it to much power, it´ll spin out of control fast! And when letting go of the throttle, it just keeps rolling forever. You must use the brake to stop it. A bit hard to get the right feeling there also. The braking force can be adjusted on the (Acoms) ESC. Since it´s very low, the smallest stone will send it out of cource. Luck is that i found a newly paved parkinglot with ample of space, i have had very fun putting it thru it paces there. It does make my 850BTCC feel slow in comparison. Anyway, if you dont have a F1 yet, get one and you´ll experience a different ride.[Update 29/12-06] I´ve been driving it at our new indoor track this fall, but i´ve had some problems with the ESC. It gets stuck in reverse after braking sometimes. I´ll have to change it. I also noticed when driving on a track that the servo is very slow, this clearly is a problem when comming fast into a corner. You´ll have to turn before you hit the turn to be able to take the corner right. So a new faster servo is needed. Otherwise it´s a fun but somewhat challeging car to drive, and thats nice in a way. You must be gentle on the throttle not to spin out of control. I´m thinking of getting an aluminium heatsink for it also, as the sporttuned gets very hot. I´ll change the gearing also to get the motor to rev up more easily and stay cooler. I think it´s sad that Tamiya doesent have a F1 with rear wheel drive in its line up today. They are so much fun to drive.
