[TRADED] Modern and not slightly dissappointing anymore!
COMPETITION ENTRY: This is my cross between a New VW beetle and my Baja Champ...
I bought this thinking that years of Tamiya development would have meant that the more recent cars would be at least as good as the older ones, and cheaper to run. I must say though, that after ball-racing it and running a hotter than standard motor, it feels really slow. I've also added a quick release battery kit. I'll try at some point with a Dynatech 01R that I've got spare to see if that improves things. It does turn quite nicely with the power off though...
Update: Well I put in the 01R and it still wasn't as fast as thought it would be, so I've stripped it all down again and squirted some 3in1 into each of the bearings and wiped away some of the (really thick) grease from inside the gearboxes - and now it goes like I thought it would!
25/06/05 - Hop ups now include:
* Fully ball raced
* Home made carbon fibre prop shaft and gear shafts
* RCLine Volcano ESC
* 15T Motor
* Quick release battery holder
* Top Force Evo wheels
* Carbon fibre front suspension strut brace
* Kyosho oil shocks
* Terra Conqueror universals at front
STATUS: Rear wishbones reversed to increase wheelbase so it fits a 1/8th scale Lancia Delta shell. Needs painting.
MANUAL: Yes
Update: This was sitting on the shelf unloved so it's been traded with Ridgeback for a Wild One.
I still have the beetle shell though if anybody wants it?

The TL01b chassis of the Baja Champ and Baja King is one of the fastest cars ever. I was really impressed by it's speed with a usual silvercan 540 motor.

OK - It's going to have to be rebuilt then...
