Messing about between AutoCad and eMachine shop

Autocad can produce DXF files, which can then be imported into eMS. After a little tinkering, you can get some good pics :)

eMS is a free programme from www.emachineshop.com - you can actually order what you draw, but you're really looking at 10's or 100's to make it viable.

There's a demo comes with it too, talks you thru their drawing procedures

:D Just found out what the top plate in the 4th pic reminds me of;

Lower link rod Battery tray Top (radio) plate Top one reminds me of a character in 2000AD comic The Eddie! Nothing to do with B³ - bit of vintage thrown in!

Andy - just seen this and had a quick look round the emachine shop site. Have you ordered any stuff from them?
I was also wondering if it would be possible to use them to produce a master lexan mould for an R/C car body. I have a few ideas for cars I'd like to make shells for and have been messing around in the likes of Blender to see whats possible. I think the main limitations would be how tricky it would be getting a 3D design into the emachine software using DXF.
Would be great if there was a company like this based in the UK - I suspect shipping and customs charges put the price of this kind of thing up considerably....... Cheers, Chris

Chris

I've never ordered anything, to get a half reasonable delivery time costs a fortune for small batches.

3D would be a nightmare using their software, unless there's an option I missed, get yourself a Z printer

Z printer - whassat? I have seen the desktop 3D CNC milling machines. They look pretty cool and look like they might be able to handle producing RC car plugs for molding. Not cheap though at 2000USD+. I can dream
