Optima Mid Turbo
Car I raced for a couple of years in the 80s. Made my own chassis in carbon fibre. Chassis was only 1.5mm thick, very light, but it's fitted with a glassfibre spine to prevent the chassis snapping when I hit anything, after all my hard work. Sold the car in 1990 for £120, bought it back in 1995 for £45, with the electronics thrown in! Cleaned it up and replaced what was worn. One or two parts are still modified from standard, I have since bought an original chassis, top plate and shock mounts to convert it back to standard. What was I thinking when I threw these parts away years ago.

Looks really good. I bet it handles great on tarmac, really wide track and low CoG! Very nice wheels and tyres. Love the paintwork too!

Thanks for your comments, the paint looks even better in the flesh, the 3d effects work really well. Like all my buggies in the early 90s it was built for on road racing, thats why it has lowered (raised?) shock mounts. The wheels are Kyosho Corvette ones and the tyres are from Schumacher Road and Tracks, they worked well on tarmac but I still used 1/8th stock car foams when racing on carpet.
