I wanted to make a 4x4 Wild Willy that would be suited for some off road action or light crawling. The TLT-1 made a good foundation for this project, although the axles and drivetrain (for now) is the only parts from the original kit. I opted for the Penguin RC Performance chasssis kit made for the TLT - which is not only alot better to look at than the ugle metal plates that Tamiya provided in the kit - the Penguin carbon chassis is a big improvment performance wise too.

All diffs are locked, axle diff using the G-parts from the XC kits, center diff is epoxy glued and locked for life.

As all serious 4x4 enthusiasts (1:1) I had to replace the small fake spare wheel on the Wild Willy body with the real thing. Not optimal for crawling, but I will remove it before hittin' the rock pile. The WW body is not ideal for for crawling either, due to it's weight, but I wanted a 4x4 WW so another body was not an option, and this car is obviously not built for serious crawling.

I've only test run it a few packs indoors. The LRP truck puller 2 motor (80t) gives long running time, and I can't wait to get this puppy outdoors!

Cool Willy. That excellent conversion looks good enough to be a factory job, nice one.

I like your WW2 crowler, very nice, good proportion between body, chassis and 2,2 wheels tires. I'll copy your WW2-TLT1. Ciao!!

Very cool, I have had a notion to keep one of the tlt-1s relatively stock but the stock lexan max climber and tlt-1 bodies are so ugly I kept building them into bigger trucks, but this is such a good idea...mmm
