Mmmmm.
What a nice wee beastie this is, a genuine Black Porsche 934. Caused me no end of worry too. I won it in an auction in mid-December, it only arrived a week ago! 4 months! It has been from the US to New Zealand, back to the US, across the US and then back to New Zealand in that time.
I have to thank Jim (Voltar) for his excellent postal services and help in finally getting this here. Thanks Jim.
When I got it I discovered that it had a set of extremely elderly receiver batteries festering in the rear. This had caused some corrosion on the screws fixing the motor pod, and some marks on the otherwise pristine underside. I chopped the battery holder off (it was past redemption) and disassembled and cleaned the rear end. It looks like new now.
It has all the necessary accessories: Black box, bag and book.
This has to be one of the finest looking models Tamiya produced, certainly it is a highlight of my collection. However it is unbelievably fragile (hard to believe that it did all that travelling and didn't end up a pile of small pieces).
It has radio gear installed and as soon as I find a battery holder to replace the old one I will give it a run. Probably indoors. Slowly.
