This was my first step back into Tamiya kits and was my first new bought kit since my Hornet, I have had the model in kit form for nearly 3 years !!
Anyways I fancied a break from all the resto's I had on the go and fancied building one of my kits, It was a toss up between this one, my XR311 or my Clodbuster. As I had some nice 8 spoke alloys thanks to Moosey I decided the Mini it was.
It has been sprayed in a metallic base then Black with a white roof - shows a very nice metallic finish. The grille, wheel arches and number plate lamp have been sprayed in Alclad.
Didnt want the racing decals on and wanted a street racer look, fitted number plates (thanks livesteammad) the number is from my mums first car a 1966 mini traveller with the numbers turned round to suit the period of this Mini. Finally finished off with a pair of tailpipes made from car brake pipe. <br.
chassis is fitted with full ball racers and a sport tuned motor.Hope you like the finished article

UPDATE DEC 2008 - been going through the showroom updating what I still have and dont have etc. Sadly this car is now no more, the chassis lives on but the body is gone forever. Decided that due to the amount of views this has had I wont delete for ever and i'll put in the 'other' section. I have a new body for this and will list that when I get round to painting it which will be a long way off I think
