Finally managed to race at the Scottish GP. A great day out with some of the best drivers from around the country racing. I was supposed to be there all weekend and do 19t on Sat and watch open mod on Sunday, but my lift up forgot to tell me he was getting his eyes tested on Sat, doh! So I ended up racing a 12t for the fist time by accident. Practice went smoothly and I decided to take out the one way pully and put in a solid one (Thanks Si for the loan of one) and then it was on to super pole - three consecutive flying laps to set your heat. I think I did ok and ended up in heat 3 of 7. In the heats the car was running like a train. Ended up winning all the heats and setting some really good times, although some of the races were really close (just ask Colin Barclay, that was one awsome race!) My best time set me in 9th spot of the B final - making me the highest placed Falkirk driver - I was amazed I had managed to get so high up on the first time out! First final was all action from the off. Carnage at the 3rd corner put me up to about 5th and slowly I worked up to 3rd. As the last minute sounded I think the leader crashed puting me up to second right behind the new leader. I was driving that poor 415MS as hard as it would go! Just as I was catching the leader a backmarker turning around after his own crash collected me and the guy behind me, dropping me down to 4th. Ach well these things happen. The second final wasn't so hot and I was involved in the first big accident, keeping me in 9th. Then about half way through after working up to the middle somewhere something went wrong. I dunno if it was interference or something broke on the car but I couldn't keep the car straight coming off the main straight - it was all over the place. I struggled on to finish 5th or 6th. On later inspection this morning the back diff is solid so that might be why. In the crew pic left to right are Craig, FRCC's top Junior - Steve - Si - B@llsie - Me - Dave - Colin and Grant. Scotty and Andy were there too but were putting away their tent.
