This project came deep from within the parts boxes in my closet. I had a spare Subaru Brat body that begged to be put on a chassis and run. I love the Brat, but I already have a good runner and this time I wanted it to live up to the 4WD stamped on the sides of the body. Time to make good on that. An old Pajero chassis just sitting around for parts was used as the base. I was going to part out the Pajero for my Izuzu Mu Type X, but these cars are pretty tough. I have yet to seriously brake anything on my Type X that a little super glue or epoxy couldn't take care of. The only thing that didn't come from my parts box was the radio gear and Tamiya sealed bearings.
As you can see the Subaru Brat body fits on the Pajero or any Cross County chassis as if it were made for it. The rear pumpkin really helps to create the realism. The Tamiya Boy wheels from an old RTR Tamiya kit are a perfect match for this project. Not to mention that the tires are exactly the same as the orginal Subaru Brat.
