I have been going to do a sprint car for a while and toyed with building a RC-10 into one. There is a man who makes a kit that is darn nice, as a matter of fact, this is the wing he makes. I was cruising the bay one night and this one appeared, it was missing the wing and had not been painted, also listed by a one feedback seller, so it was not the best listing and I don't think that too many folks saw her. I got it for a song, and after some hiccups, it finaly arrived. In the mean time while looking for a wing, I found a NIB one as well. It was a tad more expensive, but these are getting to be quite rare. Well, ok, it was a LOT more expensive, but I digress. I removed the cage and the body, and it had never been fully built. The steering was not linked together and there is not a single mark on the chassis anywhere. The other thing missing was the drivers head. Like most of us, not a problem, I have dozens to choose from and picked this classic from my box o crap. Box art is red, but I wanted something a little different. It is a deep robins egg blue and Spaz Stix hard anodized red. The wing kit came and right off I decided it had a lot of surface area that screamed for stripes, so it received a pair. The stickers are from my assorted sticker pile as I never have seen a sheet for sale by itself, but in my looking, have found a spare body shell NIP, and if I do or can duplicate the sticker set in the NIB, I will do a body in box art red. Since I have this one, the NIB will stay that way and this will go on the shelf. It is basically an Ultima 2wd, with some of the nicest tires and wheels that Kyosho ever made. They were white which will not do, so they at least are painted until I have another load for the plastic chromer. The stance and look of this car is spot on and I don't have to worry about Kyosho re-releasing it, which in my opinion has long reaching and delatorious ramifications. On the one hand, I love the Lunch Box kit, but it isn't the same as the orig, neither is the Hornet or the GH1. Let's all hope they leave some of the more revered cars alone, please forbid that they ever reproduce a 3 speed. I think that the classic Kyosho's are a sleeper market and will prove out to be a good investment. I am seeing Turbo Optima's going for over 500.00 and Javelin's for the same, not bad considering they made over 300,000 Turbo Optimas and released the Celebration chassis, coming to this showroom in the very near future. I am also just finishing up a very nice full blown Javelin. Also keep your eyes peeled for the screaming yellow zonker Hi-Lux, no expense spared, massive amounts of aluminum and a snug top to boot. If you can find one of these, buy it, they are a super car.

Well done sir, just needs to sit a little bit lower - then I would say it is a 10!

Correct as usual doc, Mike, they are actually called a sideways sprint car, the boxed one is kit number 3126. I will post it as well.

Wowwy wow wow wow Bradd! That's a real knockout! Awesome resto...as usual. I've been considering something similar for my collection, but I figure I better finish what I have first.

Thanks for your comment on mine. I had seen this one before and think it is by far the best one Ive ever seen. I also have a spare so maybe get the color scheme right next time. Cheers

Thanks Davecat, I could paint the spare body and cage set the box colors of red/white, but this one came this way and since it did not need to be fixed, I did not bother. The wing was missing along with some other pieces, but at the time they were easier to find. I was glad to find a NIB of this kit, someone else on the club has one as well. Yours is every bit as good as this one!
