**PLEASE READ THIS** for anyone looking at this model displayed in my showroom and wondering if I will sell it? PLEASE DON’T ASK!!! I get numerous requests from TC members wanting to buy cars displayed in my Tamiyaclub showroom, and to be honest I get very annoyed when people ask to buy something that is clearly NOT FOR SALE!! This car is part of MY COLLECTION and as such I want to KEEP IT!! So please don’t Email on the off chance that I might sell it to you, if I want to sell any of my cars I will put them up for sale in my TRADE ROOM, so look there to see what cars I am prepared to sell otherwise don’t bother asking cos the only answer you will get is NO!!! thanks for reading this disclaimer. Regards wldnas.

Now I’ve actually had this for a couple of weeks now…. But I’ve only just now gotten around to adding it to my showroom :S

Now what you see here is a Playtron Doberman :) it’s a 2wd Buggy that has a striking resemblance to the Tamiya Frog? But this car is a real rare find and I’ve just managed to get a nice MIB example from Ebay that turned out to pretty cheap, even after the parcel got a £26 UKP customs hit :S

The car is very simple in design, it has a space frame chassis with trailing arm rear suspension and double wishbone front suspension, the chassis came ready assembled with only fitting of radio gear and Cutting/Painting/Decaling of the body being required to finish the model off :) By Tamiya standards the built quality on this car is a bit crude and this model (and the 4WD Lynx that used the same basic chassis) were an early example of ARTR (Almost Ready To Run) kits that are pretty much standard practice today :)

I do have another Doberman in my collection, a car that came to me in a bad way and required quite a bit of restoration work to turn it back into a half presentable model, but as I have the new MIB kit now I have no need of that other car so its now up for sale in my trade room :)

I think that I will keep this kit a MIB for now, as I don’t have a new spare radio that I can fit to it? Still it good to have a MIB Playtron kit in my collection :)

The box showing the model as it should be built. The Kit comes with the pre-assembled chassis. Here are all the bits that you get in this kit. The chassis is made from a bright creamy plastic. The wheels should be white but have yellowed :S At this time I have 5 Playtron Chassis :)

Odd Ball Buggies Qualification: This car can be said to be a CLONE of the Tamiya Frog design, its from a manufacturer who only made a few different models so its RARE.
