I bought this from Whithams Specialist Vehicles who are the main Agent for ex MOD vehicles. (Go there you won't believe it!) I think it was originally FFR (fitted for radio) because there were earthing straps in the back It has a 2.5 NA Engine, the mechanical Engine cooling fan has been removed and replaced with an electrical Kenlow. This mod is a must have hop up. she has been known to reach the dizzy heights of 70 MPH! She drives like a shed on wheels! Anyone considering buying an ex MOD Landie, do it! She is far more attractive than a Hummer (because I said so) also a lot cheaper! I have had her for three years and she hasn't missed a beat yet! Oh yes everyone gives way to you, even Hummers! XXX UPDATE: Now Waxoyled and has K&N Airfilter, maybe a couple of extra bhp!

This will fill your rear view mirror! WHAT A LUMP! The Pick and Shovel are being used in the Garden! More lump! Is there a converter to Tamiya Hex? Oh yes the other Mean Green Fighting Machine Added engine bay photo. Put cam net on for the war and peace show 2008 Other side. Spartan cab but eager to go...

Nice to see one with it's proper 7.50's still on it! Also I'm digging the NATO tow hitch too! As it was FFR is it 24v?

Hi, no 12v, but it had earthing straps in the back, I am guessing FFR, also it has been resprayed where the Ariel mounts would have been on the side rear wings. Whithams are not told where its been or whats it done.

Cool. I believe there is a way of finding out which regiment it was atatched to if Whithams can look up the original forces reg for you. Very nice example you got there!

Nice car, did you ever thought of building your real car in 1:10 or 1:12. There are pretty nice bodies for the XC- Chassis which could be converted...

Hi there Dino, nice 1, the deestones you have are fine, but really were the series 3 pattern, the first pattern for the 110's 90's was the XCL but these were phased out in the early 90's because they wore so quickly and were horrible on the road (believe me I know) and replaced by the correct tyres like the type you have on the bonnet, these too wear very quickly but are better for general purpose on off road use, being FFR, there may well have been stock 24v, or later ones including the wolf, have a split circuit system on the vehicle, and i may weel have had another generator or alternator fitted to supply 24 volts, , a lot of these items are removed when changing back to pure 12v, it is nice to see the bonnet hasn't been pushed in by squaddies standing on it, the wings also suffer from this, which is why the chequer plates were invented, older landys were built from thicker stuff so didn't suffer quite so much, if your eardrums are being bashed by the deep thrumming that hard tops reflect back at you, then a sound damper kit is available as i am sure you know, but a cheaper alternative, is to fit some industrial carpet on floor and roof, with some of that really sticky spray glue, this works wonders, i don't have it on the roof, as i am a died in the wool ragtop man, oh god, i have been waffling for hours, must stop that, it is a legacy of being in the ex mil vehicle equipment trade for so long, so i will leave you and say great looking very straight 110, now wheres my anorak??!!!!

Wet when it rains internals limit use of any damping material, it gets smelly, 30 MPG and will do 65 all day but 70 is wringing it's neck! MAN, IS IT LOUD! I found the Avon OE tyres much heavier on the steering, while they lasted, than these Deestones which I find quite light (for a Landie!) Sucks air regular, so it won't start if left for a couple of weeks, maybe because it's parked on a slope, if I park it the other way round the injector doesn't drain but the diffs leak! You soon learn how to vent the air out of the injectors! She has already earned her keep and now that she has been Waxoyled and tweaked by me she is looking forward to retirement. 4 years now and I still love Landies! Happy Trails!
