My plan is to build a brushless Savage using a Novak HV motor. I already made some mods to fit 32P spur gear to original shaft. Today I installed the motor on a self made motor mount. I've seen a lot of BL conversions with motors installed on top of the chassis raising a lot CG. I'm able to put motor very low, just under spur gear. About transmission I want to keep 2speeds and I'm searching for a one-way bearing to put under 2nd gear to have working reverse. The one-way bearing must be 6mm bore and 5mm width. The hunt seems very hard. If you can help...

Nice idea if it works thats going to be an awsome truck although the savage is quite a heavy truck compared to the tamiya tnx wich seems very light .

I can't remember where I had seen it, but you could use a 380 motor w/one-way for your reverse 'gear'. Would only require a flip-flop relay? I remeber this set- up being used on an Italian made Nitro car. Sounds kind of tricky... but would look so cool!

I like the low motor design, I too have thought blah after seing those mods hanging the motors way up top. Your route looks better designed.
