King Tiger Hauler
I have finally done as much as I think I will to this one. I'm quite pleased with the result.
When I got this it was painted matt purple. The paint had been applied with a brush. I suspect that the previous owner lived on a farm, because there was a lot of suspicious-looking green gunge splattered around the undercarriage!
You can see the original look here:

I bought it as a runner/basher with the intention of keeping it that way. The body was sound, but the chrome parts were looking pretty sad. However a few months ago I purchased a low-loader and decided to turn it into a military hauler.
The body took a lot of work to strip. You can see the process here:

At first I wasn't going to strip the wheels because they still looked good (see pic 4), but it really did need matching wheels to complete the look.

Looks great!

I like it! All it needs is some dust 'weathering' and it'll look ace! Good work.

superb don! I knew I should have got that low loader!!!

Wow, that looks great!!! You could probably use some Hummer and Fast Attack decals to polish off more of the details. Great idea to do this!!!

Nice job, I like!

I thought about decals. I have some FAV ones. One problem is that it would then be an American truck pulling a German tank. The other is that I trawled through lots of pics of military transporters and most of them didn't have any markings.
I'm not really up on military stuff.

Another Stunner in your Stunning Wee Collection. Nice Job Don

Beautiful truck. I used to be in the military and the transports looked exactly like that - don't put any decals on. Great work !

I dig it. Very nice work.

I don't know anything about the actual markings, it was just a suggestion. In my humble opinion, it looks very sharp as is.

Wow! Looks the Business! What a great look! Just a few serial Numbers would really set it off, but looks right as is!

She's a beauty Don. Now I can see why you've been busy making more room by selling off some of your other models

Looks great! Now you should get a Pershing to replace the King Tiger
Bluefoot
Wow! Thanks for all the comments. It's great to get such feedback. Still thinking about serial numbers etc. I might do some more research on that one. And yes, a Pershing has been on my shopping list for a while now. Maybe Santa will bring me one

Awesome looking rig Don! For a split second while looking at the the smaller thumbnail in the showroom section I thought it was the truck from that old 80's 'Battletruck' TV show Oh, my LHS has very cheap brand new chrome for the 'Hauler in their 'bargain bin' if you're interested.

Hi great looking truck, i have a strange need to have all my stuff green or camo, so this is a very welcome truck in my view, if you put the serial numbers on it and the stars, then weather it a bit, it will put the cherry on the cake, love it, i must get one to haul my tanks around, top job, CC
