I bought this M01 new many years ago and its been well used & enjoyed. I have now restored it, and treated it to a new Monte Carlo shell - plus a super rare Tech Racing rollcage and driver. The rollcage mounts on to the resistor location, and the original bodymount posts. The driver's head then screws into the rollcage (ouch - painful !). The tyres have been given the chop-&-glue Rally Block treatment before the M-chassis versions were available as a Tamiya optional part.
I contacted the Mini Cooper Register who kindly sourced some private archive photos of the car so I could replicate Timo Makinen's overalls accurately to make it look even more like the 1994 Monte Carlo entry this model is based on.
