A TALE OF TWO TRADERS, OR WHO KNOWS WHATS UP!
This is a sad tale with no resolution yet. I bought this Electric Peanuts racer from an ebay dealer f3vr8 in the UK. It was only a 50 quid deal, but the shipping was another 20 Pounds. It is the last and only body style for this car I don't have and the box, while not nib was in the seven eight range and the body perfect. In case anyones interested the auction number is 6021483489. I paid for it as soon as I received the invoice and waited, and waited. He sent it the cheapest way possible, which would have been ok except he packed it in the original box and a flimsy outer box with 4 pillow bags on top of the inner box. Needless to say, it arrived in pretty sad shape. The lights on the top of the body went through the box as you can see in the pictures. The box lid was pretty much destroyed. It also ripped them out of their mounts and ripped a tear under the drivers seat because the body was still attached to the chassis. I emailed him and he promptly told me to take it up with British post. So I sent them pictures and filled out the forms only to find out that he had not insured it and due to the packing, it would not have been covered had he insured it anyway. I informed him of that and was regailed with tales of how he had done the same thing before and nothing had happened. Needless to say he was completly blameless and offered to refund the 20 quid. If anyone knows where I can get a body, stickers and box for 20 Pounds, please contact me! LOL!!! Anyway, this is a mint CHASSIS with the third style body. It is pretty much like the other two, except this is a rather unusual body, the only one I have seen. One the other hand, I bought two cars from Spice that arrived today, one a Ferrari GTO and the other a FW-2 or 3 Tech chassis, full blown and just about as nice a pair of cars as I have. hey were properly packed and sent the day they were paid for and traveled just as far, the difference? Spice truly cared whether or not they arrived in one piece, and that I was happy, the other bloke was just interested in the money. He did know enough in his ad to say it was a shelf queen, but he treated it like a street walker. If Spice still has any cars left for sale, do yourself a favor and look them up, they are top notch and his work is immaculate. As they say, picture worth thousand words!
