My Hilux`s first trip to the woods!!!!
Not a bad first run really....only minimal problems with gears ( I haven`t got a shift gate yet) and the batteries seemed to last for ages (*nimh 3000mah). However, perhaps someone could advise, when the receiver batteries are running low - do the gears and speed control start to play up? I have found that despite it running perfectly to start with, things started to go down hill. I haven`t yet had chance to pop out for some new batteries but suspect that the servos have lost the power to shift/return effectively. Managed to get the wife along to take the pic!
*UPDATE*
Receiver battery pack (6v 1200nimh) bought and installed - has sorted the above problems; steering/gear shift all sorted now. There obviously is not enough power in the normal dry cell pack to pull the rods etc. phew! 2nd picture is from my second trip out with new batt pack - performed perfect! Despite the small wheels/tires really can climb quite steep gradients with ease. Was shocked by the power in 4wd, although I must use threadlock as a couple of bolts rattled out!
