You may think this guy must have some suicidal tendencies, but I can assure you: she will love it!! As some of you might know we are a little Rally fanatic over here and that includes my girlfriend. She does not have an R/C car yet, but this will change very soon! She cannot stand the classics especially the famous 'Ur-Quattro'. Whenever she looks at my Lancias (Delta, Stratos, 037) she shouts: When the hell will you get a Quattro finally? Well, at your service, ma'am :-).
What I made is take one of the Carson shells and put it on a TB01. I don't like the TB01 very much (there are better rally car chassis out there), but as this specimen will spend most of it's life stationary it will do. In case it will be driven I installed full ball bearings, ESC, CE-4 motor, steel pinion, aluminium propshaft and light weight gears. Of course I had to correct the rear ride height which is simply too low compared to the front (one of the most weird design faults Tamiya made on that chassis) by installing longer shocks.
I will let you know wether this present was a good idea (otherwise I'm not sure if you will ever hear from me again ;))
UPDATE: please see last pic down :D

Shame that those HPI belt drive cars don't fit under this great looking body
. Top work! I know, a lot of effort is needed to make this car faster and especially more reliable, but I like the looks and the closed radio box.

UPDATE: As you can see in last pic down, she likes her present veeeery much and will not give it out of her hands ever! Dunebuggy, looks like the Quattro stays where it is (as does my head)!
