Along with the Mercedes Benz 190E Amg, Mercedes Benz 190E Berlin 2000, Clarion Nismo and Honda S800 Racing, I purchased this beautiful Mazda 787B. I've assembled the chassis and cutted the body, then I set aside the car, while I'm working on other projects. I had to work a lot on the front threads of this car, the body shell were a litter wider than the chassis, so I turned the outside bushing of each of the front wheels to increase the front chassis threads and align the wheels to the body. UPDATE: Finally I found the time to complete this beautyful body, it takes a lot of work with masking tape, sprays and decal, but it definitely worth the effort! :-)

Shouldn't there be 3-chamber rotary engine in it? Nice one!

You're right, the Mazda 787B wins the 1991 Le Mans race with its Renesis rotary engine. For details visit [Click here]

Actually, it ran with the 4-rotor R26B engine. The 'Renesis' is the turbocharged 2-rotor engine of the RX-8 road car (2003).
The Cosmo (1967) uses the 12A (2x600cc) engine.
I love those rotaries! Very smooth.

*Excellent looking car*. After winning Lemans rule changes effectively forced rotaries from entering competively in LeMans. A great peice of history. Now somehow jam a OS .30 *****el Rotary engine in there.
The Renesis is not a turbo, but has side exhaust exits. The ORIGINAL Cosmo was a 10A, For clarification on motors and models, check [Click here]

Thanks guys, this page has become a corner for rotary engine's lovers!

The 787B used the R26B 4 rotor engine which is a 4 port type peripherial port (PP) engine not a Renesis! The Renesis engine was developed for the RX-8 which was released in 2003. BTW, RX-8's are not turbo's either. Also, the 1967 Cosmo had a 10A engine not a 12A.
Cheers, Keith
