Sold now - just wasn't using it enough so it's gone to a better home :(
Loved the look of the Monster Beetle when I was young! It'd been playing on my mind again so decided to build one up - starting off with a King Blackfoot chassis (partly ball raced with oil shocks, bought from another TC member). Gradually added the rest of the ball races, an ESC, faster motor, Monster Beetle rear mounts, a front mount from an original Blackfoot and a Monster Beetle red chassis and the metal plate underneath to protect the servo. Mounted the steering servo centrally and fitted a trickbits servo saver to improve the steering.
Reproduction scorcher shell from Kamtec, then decided to go for a scorcher style paintjob mainly thanks to the fact that MB decals aren't as easily available as the excellet repro scorcher ones on TC. Really liked the look of the red/yellow scheme that I've seen on here loads.
The first body I've painted for a while, quite pleased with bits of it, but there's loads of errors. I like the painted rear lights, just wish I had rememberd/bothered to do the window frames and paint some door handles. Headlight decals and windscreen wipers from a Mini Cooper Racing.
Bought some older runner tyres to wear out first, mounted these on some nice chrome wheels :) Will soon be a runner when I get the chance! Just want the steering servo cover to make the chassis look a little bulkier (now got, need to update the pics).
