Nasty, nasty body
Well, finally buckled and got me a Rock Pleazer shell - not exactly a lover of these, all that spare lexan and this was what they came up with :(
Any road, usual nightmare painting it; first can of 'gun metal' turned out to be window tint, then only had 1/2 a can of the good stuff, so back sprayed it silver and then black.
Apart from masking, the whole paint job took maybe 20 minutes from cap off to masks off.
The chassis is a BTA steering jobbie, never really got a chance to run the last one.
Steering servos are mounted directly to the steel braces, using normal kit issue plastic blocks, albeit cut down so servo rests on the brace.
Wheels and tires are the new GMade models, they'll get a good running this weekend :D
Other stuff for the interested;
Wheelbase: 16'' / 407mm
Width: 17.5'' / 445mm
Chassis Clearance: 3.6'' / 90mm
Clod axles, locked diffs and bearings
Traxxas Big Bore shocks
Silver Star Ultra ESC
Eagle Racing 55t Lathe motors
Towerpro 995 servos
GPM Alu knuckles
Alu-Cutter adjustable motor mounts (inside gearboxes)
Inet wheel wideners and top link posts
Dubro ballends on links, apart from Gmade monster links on steering
Bent steering links to clear gearboxes
Fastboy shock clamps
After doing a bit of reading, gearing is 9t at rear, 10t at front and ESC is wired to rear motor first, all in an attempt to minimise rear motor stall.
