Ever since I first saw a Bear Hawk in a thread on TC, I knew I had to have one. The bonus is that they can be had for next to nothing, too.

This example came up in the showroom for £25 posted - almost complete, but well used and without electrics.

On first inspection it looked really good - everything was there, just needed radio and ESC. On closer inspection it looked a little worn - shocks were stiff and grinding, mounting plate for MSC was missing, battery clip missing - but what do you expect for £25?

Pics are of the Bear Hawk as it was after I'd fitted bearings and greased up the standard drivetrain, however plans have now emerged to turn the Bear Hawk into a high-tech evolution model. DF03 oil shocks, custom chassis, Top Force shock mounts and turnbuckle adjustments are all part of the future plans for the Bear Hawk Evo...

UPDATE 15/02/2008
Oh, a sad, sad day. Due to my house-move and cutting back on models, the Bear Hawk has now been sold to a colleague. I sold it with the DF03 oil shocks and an NIB bodyset, so my colleague can paint it up for his son's birthday.

I think I will miss this model more than any other. Who knows, maybe one day I'll buy another to restore and display, but right now I have to concentrate on my main projects and display sets.
