My Sisters first Tamiya
My 9 year old sister emily wanted a proper r/c, so what better to start her off with than the best beginner tamiya rc buggy of all time? For £38 on ebay, NIB, i couldnt pass this one up! Its nearly ready to be a runner, just waiting for the radio gear to arrive. its stickered up like the box art and fitted with the 380 motor, but i've planned ahead and built it with a full set of ball bearings and i've got the 540 and hornet pinion ready to fit. to get some nice traction on the rough stuff, i've fitted a new old stock set of troll tyres. the tread is nice and deep, plus i think they look pretty cool! allthough they were a pain to get on, i had to use washing up liquid to help them over the wheel centres! I'll be updating as soon as the build is complete, i think some action shots are required too :)
Update -
This little hopper is now a retro runner, fitted with acoms radio gear and the stock esc. As my sister is still getting used to it, its keeping the stock motor - untill shes ready for the 540 :-)
