Here it is, not only the truck that started the 'big monster' craze, but also the truck that started my tamiya addiction ;-)
This is my Clod Buster runner, originaly owned by my cousin, who had it from new. i've now owned it for nearly 7 years, and in that time its only needed a few pinion gears, some aluminium mods and a new front gearcase.
Apart from the aluminium b11 anti rotation backets that i made, and the chassis braces on either side, its completely stock - just as tamiya intended. i really like this truck, i think tamiya did a great job of recreating the monster trucks of the time. back then, car crushing, mud bogging and just plane posing was all a monster truck needed to do - the clod can do all those things - just in 1/10 scale ;-)
Update!
I've just finished a complete tear down and rebuild of my old clod buster. It is now fully ballraced, cleaned and re greased and fitted with 2 new rs 540 motors. I'm going to keep it like this for now, as clods drive best flat out - so no esc is required ;-)
Hopefully i've done enough to this truck for it to last another 20 years!
