Well its that time of year again :) time for the annual RomanWay flying club model show at the Rover sports and social club, roman way, Cowley near Oxford, this year instead of being on the first Sunday in September it was pushed back to the following week cos of a double booking with a wedding, good thing too because the weather on Sunday 3rd was god awful, but Sunday 10th was the usual bright sunny and Raving hot weather I've come to associate with this event :)

This is the 3rd year I've attended this event and as before it was the same guys who did the event along with me :) James Bason from Howes models in Oxford and his friend, Richard Brooker (now a TC member FLAT4DRIVER) and Naz, there were also a couple of other local guys who had bought along some nitro cars that they put to good use with the Ramps that I’d bought along ;) in fact the ramps provided much of the entertainment and we managed to keep cars running throught the day even if we did not have quite as many with us this time as in previous years, I certainly did not bring any additional display cars this time round, anyway we also had a selection of items for same but only Richard managed to sell anything, the running was quite fun, some SRB, 3 speeds and other vintage and more modern Tamiyas were on show, as always we managed to break a few of the cars but then you have not driven an RC if you didn’t break anything ;)

The show itself was not as well supported in previous years, there was plenty of display flying going on as before and the “paddling pool” for the Boat club was out again, and we even had the Robot Wars display in the main hall again but the tank guys weren’t there and there were notably fewer market traders on had, I've heard rumours that the site is going to be bought up for redevelopment? Which might mean that Model events like this at Romanway may become a thing of the past? Lets hope not as its always a good friendly event to attend and have a good days messing about with RC cars 

The stand is just a few tables set out. I re-used my display banner from previous events. Some of the cars I bought to run & display. The sales stuff was down the other end. James bought a good selection of cars to run. This is trackside view behind the stand. One of the Nitro cars that turned up flew well. Here is another angle of the Nitro cars jumping. Naz's Wild Dagger takes off. Some of the jumps didn't quite go to plan.
