After sitting around broken and incomplete for many years, my DJ TA03F is finally complete. It needed a ton of work and many trips to Japan to get it back to this condition! This car originally belonged to my brother, who knew nothing about RC and just thrashed it, jumping curbs and crashing it at every opportunity. He gave it to me a while back and I wanted to bring it back to life. The entire car was pretty hammered and I ended up replacing almost all the plastic parts, shocks, screws and gears. Somehow the carbon chassis plates were in very good condition despite all the airtime this car experienced. It took almost 2 years to get the chassis squared away. It was nearly complete but I needed a good body for it. James (Toykid) came through the other day with this wide Z body originally intended for one of my runners. After some thought, I knew this body would get trashed within minutes of bashing so I dedicated it for this project. I was stumped on how I wanted to paint it until I saw a Taisan Z at a TCS race not too long ago. Being a fan of the Taisan Porsche, I knew I had to have one myself, but done my way. It took forever to mask but I'm happy with how it turned out. I raided the decal bin and found a partial Taisan Porsche decal set. While in Japan last week I got the final pieces to this puzzle- Speedway Pal wheels with a huge +7 offset, Atlas tires, additional Taisan decals and one of my favorite parts of this car, the Speedway Pal metal wing mount. I couldn't get myself to drill more holes in the body so I just servo taped it down, which will be fine since this won't be run again. I think it came out beautiful and it's been worth the wait to take these pics today!

Speedway Pal metal wing mount can you say FAT offsets? pretty much new built now

Thanks Guys. I really like this one. And I don't care what you say James, I'm still not running it haha! Dephcon5, the wheels can only be had in Japan as far as I know. I've scoured the states for them, so when I went to Tokyo last week I cleaned out the pegs. I thought I would have a set or two for trade but my scavenger RC friends already attacked me! I have a set of +10 offset Speedway wheels that fit perfectly on my old school Skyline PCG-10 I'm building right now!

This body inspired me to build an identical body of my own. I have already obtained the Speedmind race wing. Excellent car and I especially like the attention to detail you put into the fit and finish of the wheels inside the Tamiya body wheel wells. Looks Awsome!!

Awesome looking car. Nice choice of wing and wheeel/tire combo. You can't go wrong with that paint scheme and the whole car came together great!!
