Wahey - my first commission!
A friend eyed up my collection of many r/c Minis, and asked me to create a 1/10th scale version of his own car. The Mini in question is a standard late MPi Sportspack with Amaranth paintwork. The 58211 bodyshell combined with Monte Carlo plated wheels is perfect for recreating the large 13' alloy wheel look, although the bumpers have to be forgone.
I was really pleased with my efforts of masking on this one; almost perfect split of paint colours along the roofline. As you can see I masked the lights so LEDs can be added at a later date. I think we may add a set of 4 spotlights along the grille to match the real car.
The chassis is standard apart from being ballraced. I'll leave the hop-ups to the new owner.
Needless to say my friend was delighted with 'mini Purple Ronnie'!

Metallic Purple paint, backed with white & black Stickers to match Now a looky-likey for real 'Purple Ronnie' Mini Grille is Bright Silver. Indicators are clear Masking during painting
