I never thought i'd see the day i would become a nitro owner!
I thought it was just the annoying buzzing engine sound that had stopped me from going nitro - but really it was just because i didnt have the money for a decent machine!
So here is my first nitro RC - you cant go wrong with a 3 cc 40 mph 1/8 scale tamiya TNX. This is one awsome truck. not the most pretty chassis, but it looks very strong, and purely functional - which is just whats needed, as this thing will move that quick nobody will even see the chassis!
Its all shiney, for the moment - i dont have any fuel lol!
It was purchased via ebay, saturday night, and i collected it sunday evening.
The seller made me jealous - he works for tamiya, driving tamiya trucks at events to promote them! What a great job! He's upgrading his fleet of tnx's to the new tnx (the one with the nice white body), which by the way - looks very impressive (but i cant say anymore than that ;-))
This tnx was his desplay model, which has only ever sat on a stand, with people drooling at it (hopefully not over it!)
It still needs running in, but it'll be making me scared very shortly :D

Update!
This machine is now a runner! I've never heard a nitro truck sound this good, what a great quality truck. Its now run in and ready to woop the ass off any t-maxx or savage. Its my first nitro, but not my last. A 5.2 tnx is on my wanted list :-)
Update July 2007
Wooped ass off of XTM Mammoth today! My tnx started first time, the mammoth kept stalling. It eventually started but promptly broke down again, stripping its rear diff. Tamiya is the greatest - all other RC's suck ;-)
I've been to the top speed of 40 mph with this truck, but i want to go faster. A 5.2 R will be on its way soon i think!

Is it petrol??? How fast does it go??? Not run yet Not bad suspension for a truggy!

If you liked those pictures, you should see these...
Whats that comming over the hill???

You should have a lot of fun with it if anything the tnx and terorcrusher before it are much stronger than hpi savage, they are in my case, my sister has my old terrorcrusher and i have my electric conversion tnx despite everything they have hit nothing has broke unlike my savage .

Just got in to nitro too, huh. I just bought my first nitro car (Duratrax Maximum st) off E*** today. I guess I have just as good a chance as you of having it blow up in my face ; ).

My friend has one, I appreciate the truck, but is his isn't even as good as quality as my tmaxx. could be because he doesn't take care of it too much. But I noticed the turnbuckles seam to break, so keep a couple in your inventory, along with the starter gears for the electric start, they seamed to eat gears and becareful with the drive axles as I see they also like to break. Don't mean to scare you away of ur purchase, just telling you so you have more fun and less time waiting on parts. All cars have their weekness's, I just can't seam to keep my t maxx tranny in one piece. There is one little metal pin that always breaks. A good 2 hours to fix it.

It didn't look that good on ebay. I bidded on this one. Or one of the others. Very tidy.
