The Brushless Hoard Car
I took apart the original brushless and installed everything on this baby..I need the Thorp diff to controll the stearing and the extra wide front end I believe helps..I can do 360 spins without roll overs..1.5 times faster than the standard Champ..
Another Ebay aftermarket special. This was pretty beat up when I got it but had some great aftermarket parts. A few NIP parts packages and a like new Thorp Diff came with the auction. This was at one time a Rough Rider but I added the Super Champ Tranny that I had machined to hold the Novak Brushless motor. The tranny is full bearing, ceramic, with; the Thorp Diff...The u joints are steel with electroless nickel plating. The rear axils are the CRP or Thorp aftermarket. Original Tamiya duel bearing rear arms. The wheels are made by Rad all aluminum face and back. Very nice quality wheels. The tires are courtesy of Woober Goober and painted by Pleiku with his magic paint pen. but that’s another story..
Well here it is now. The Chassis is the extra wide RCH or MIP.. The front end is the CRP extra wide with +1/2 inch with hardened steel pins. Trailing arms are RCH in a Silver nylon color. Came that way from the package. It has the RCH ball racers. The shock tower is one of the older ones with the screws for the springs but I added the tower extenders that I believe were made my RCH to allow the taller front shocks. The roll cage is RCH or MIP very heavy duty with the nurf bars. Took hours to file and sand the welds. All that I need is the steering linkage and turnbuckles. The original Super Champ is too short because of the extended front end. The shocks are from GPM Racing Products. Blue anodized Aluminum with coil overs. These were aftermarket for the RC-10. The Mech deck is home made. I was running the brushless in a standard Champ and wanted to get the extended front end and diff. I was going to take apart one of my other cars but this came up on ebay. Perfect for me and this project. I can’t wait to give it a go..I am working on a Super Champ body.Hope to find some real shocking color for this baby…
