My Re-vamped Twin det 1
This is the one I got from Basherboy in blue listed in my showroom, But! after 18 months or so It is in a little bit of a used condition so! I managed to get a new shell I think from possibly steve301 ? it was nearly a year ago so I forget. I also had broken one of the rear body mounts and the others were quite bent and twisted following nailing a small child and him falling back onto it (the kid was fine btw he found it amusing) One of the rear stock friction shocks had a bent shaft too and the shell was totally destroyed. All in all I have had my moneys worth ten times over! These trucks are enormous fun, cheap and tough! So I set about with a rebuild and clean up fitting oil shocks (CVA) It was already ballraced replaced the bust bits! and when it came originally it came with the thunder tiger wheels and tyres as spares from basherboy brand new, as well as the originals which are as you can imagine quite worn now, so new look ! new wheels & tyres. I sprayed the shell tamiya metallic purple and backed it with silver to make it sparkle a bit more. It gives it a real 70's disco purple retro colour but the pics dont show it well. I decided to keep the decals to a minimum as I dont think they would suit the colour well. I also took the opportunity to fit a ESC and have fitted a pair of kyosho 550 size 19t motors from my newley aqquired USA1 as I wont be running that for a bit until thats finished off. Its already ballraced too. I hope to fit a carbon chassy soon and some alloy wishbones etc too, but for now its still the best fun for £100 all in you can have with a monster truck except the pumpkin of course ;) I will be breaking it in (or breaking it ) at the forthcoming north west bash in Buxton, should come back at least very muddy lol.
