Well, here it is finally, the chassis from the NIB Hummer box. I sold the body off not long after I opened the box to another TC member in need of one. My intentions will be to build a Toyota FJ40 for my BEST MAN from my wedding 3 years ago. He is a dear friend and I did get him a proper 'best man present' but I wanted him to relive some of his past with this. He had a 1980 Toyota FJ40 in blue and could afford the payment on the truck, but could not afford the insurance payments. He was a newlywed and so, the truck had to go in order to keep the family out of debt. Nowadays, these trucks get a nice premiun and so again, out of his price range. I thought, why not build him a scale model of his old beloved truck and he could enjoy that. SOOOOO After much delay, here is the beginnings of that. Wyoming's FJ40 will definately be used as THE guide to what to do and paint will be PS3, FRENCH BLUE...LIGHT BLUE whatever, with a white 'lid'....ROOF I do have a couple of rims left over, might put one on the back end, just hate to screw holes in the body and I will keep the Hummer antennae as I have a couple and my friend is an amatuer radio operator, so it would look like his truck is ready to transmit. I know there isn't much to look at here, but I hope to have it done by New Years.
