This is my new built Desert Gator. It is absolutely standard as I bought it to start my 5 year old son in proper RC cars rather than the toys he's had so far. Just tried to do a nice clean build, so took my time over it, as the car is an easy build anyway. I thought I'd experiment a little with the paint job, but not too much. I made my own window masks as clear windows seem to look better to me. As well as that I thought I'd vary the colour scheme slightly, using metallic blue and black side pods as on the Dyna Storm, but keeping the front white. I still wanted to do the box art stickers. Most were OK to do but the sidepod ones are a total pain, as others have also said. Just about managed to get them on though. Not perfect but OK for a basher!

Looks great, good choice of colour scheme too. Good buggy to learn with. Trust me, this buggy can take a beating. Have fun

No actually, car was cheap and had most of the other stuff needed so just built it for him. He helped actually. Did quite well for a 5 year old. Just kept saying he was good at screwing!!!!

BeetleRacer69 - Thanks. I'd already heard it was a pretty robust buggy. That's one of the main reasons I bought it. I'm a bit late putting this up so its already started proving itself!

Damon, thanks for that. They don't look quite perfect close up, the photos seem to hide any problems. Really took some doing getting them even that good though, so I'm not surprised people give up on them. Have to thank you again actually, as your Dyna Storm was the inspiration for the paint job!

i took mine out ramping yesterday ready for clumber on the 3rd dec and although it sometimes lands the wrong way up it didnt break and took a lot of hammer, they really strong cars overall and your lad should have a lot of fun with this!

It looks better with the lid on than when you saw it at Clumber doesn't it? He's already had a go on a football field. Managed to get it driving around and back to him, and didn't hit anything or even me! I think he did really well for a 5 year old. Will have him racing yet! Not sure if I'm going to make the 3rd Dec yet. A bit limited by this getting ready to race 12th scale again thing, especially the cost of the bits! Even selling some of my Scalextric collection to pay for it, so its serious!
