Nikko ProClass

This is my second; the original got parted out. These are modern 540/7.2 powered cars from Nikko, only 2WD but lots of fun and quite fast for what they are. Off road is where they are really fun. At any rate this one was bought simply for parts to get my 959 running. Since then the car has grown on me, I was going to put the body on my racing TL-01, but then I realized this car is just too nice condition and it really is a lot of fun, quite good quality really. I have put on Nikko hopup alloy oil shocks and I might put on the Sprint upgrade motor.

UPDATE: I took the ProClass to the local carpet racing circuit today. It was slow (but fast enough) and handled so well that I was driving it like a pro in minutes. I ended up running it in all three races, placing fourth in each race in a field of over a dozen TC3s, XRAYs, MR-4TC, etc! Very impressive for a little used Nikko that I got for $30. Plans are to put in a better motor (550 or mod stocker) and race again.


UPDATE 2: I replaced all the electronics with hobby grade ones (very easy) and put in a 550 motor, but to be honest the car was not any different. Apparently the stock setup is better than I thought, and Nikko has come a long way in their electronics. I haven't gone to the races for a while now, so the car hasn't seen any action. No immediate plans for its future, perhaps an early retirement.
