the project continues....
I've finally got something resembling a chassis for my next scorcher project.
I've finished the front end now. I had to make new alloy bottoms for the shocks to get the ride height back up level as it would have been too low as they were. The back end is nothing too radical, just another pair of coliovers. I had to bore out the motor housing to get the sport-tuned to fit though- they seem to have grown?!?
I've used one of my own alloy chassis (I made heaps so I've got lotsa scorcher building to do yet!!!!) The chassis design has changed a few times along the way...
The beautiful alloy wheels and anodized covers are from Rad22 and they are awesome! Thanks mate!!
Just got a few things to finish now. Steering, electrics etc etc..
Comments always welcome!

Blimey, that is seriously nice!!!! Top work and I must say that chassis looks spot on? Do you intend on making any to sell?

That's a great looking chassis, nice work! Wheel covers are sweet too, I might have to get myself some of those... Anything black and gold gets 2 thumbs up as well!
chrisdev01
Nicely done. Are the parts powder-coated, painted, or plated? I just got my shelf-queen SS back from a plating shop here in Houston -- Had everything nickle plated and it looks very nice. I'm installing electrics now and will be posting photos soon...
Kep up the good work. I can't wait to see if completed.

You´re getting there!!! Nice!!! What are those goldish covers?
Alu? How does the springs holding? Working or replaceing? Sweet!!! Badboy

Thanks for all the great comments guys!! Badboy- yes they are anodized alloy. Rad22 does them. Fantastic stuff!! The black bits are painted at the moment. I sand blasted them first then used etch primer, normal primer then matt black auto paint. I'll see how it holds up. If if doesn't then I'll go powder coating. The springs do seem pretty soft, I'm gonna try them and see how they go but stiffer would be nice. What did you use badman??
Badboy
Sorry to tell ya´... But I don´t use the fronts... Only rear but with original swaybar (?) Your car looks awesome!!! What body are you gonna use? The new Kamtec Class 5-1600?
Any hints for paint scheme? Anyway it´s gonna look super!!!
Good luck!!! Badboy
delux
Thanks bud. I'm gonna see how it goes like it is. If that's no good I'll get some stiffer springs.
I've got a couple of Kamyec bodies on the way. The rest, you'll have to wait and see.....
Badboy
I think the hopup springs that 'tamiyatech.com' are selling over the bay will work. They are stiffer... So give it a try... Badboy
delux
Thanks matey. I've put the rear torsion springs back in like you suggested. Back end feels great now, I bent them so they are nice and soft then took up the slack with the coilovers. Sorted.
Might still need something stiffer for the front, but it doesn't feel too bad. I'll try it out first.
Badboy
Any news????
delux
Sorry mate I've been a bit busy lately but I have finished the chassis and started on the body.
