My Masterpiece
Well being such a VW fan and having retired the SS so soon, I recently got a Blitzer Beetle and after a LOT of hardwork i managed to reproduce SOME decals and replaced the others by similar looking ones from a HOT SHOT II decal set. All this to recreate the SS of course. The paint took me THREE FULL WEEKS of long hard work. Note the black outline of the doors and engine vents. all done with TAMIYA SMOKE paint and REALLY THIN brush, not a permanent ink marker pen which would look too thick. Prepping, sanding, masking, painting, some more sanding, some more masking, wet sanding, and here are the results, under 4 coats of clear (with lots of wet sanding in between of course). The paint is mirror smooth and it flawlessly reproduces the famous SS paint scheme.
The body u see here is for display only. I have another i use when i run the car.
The car has full ball bearings, 20T motor, Stadium blitzer wheels, Dirt Works tires, and ESP E/T MAXX machined aluminum light set mounted on the front bumper (not pictured yet, only had the holes on the bumper at the time the pics were taken). It is a BLAST to drive.

Very nice work here. You even did those fine details like the window rubber or tyre lettering, well done.

Merci Beaucoup ! sauf que maintenant j'ai plus le courage de la faire rouler de peur d'endommager la peinture....3 semaines de travail c'est long!!
