Got this little cheapy off chris yesterday. Being such a cheap low end car its been a little neglected as thats why people generally buy a budget car, to save their nicer ones from abuse. It had those vile friction shocks on which were almost rusted solid, every single pin through the hubs and wishbones was rusted to the point where you could move the suspension up and it would just stay there then after about 3 seconds it would slowly move to its half extended postion then stay there. Front stub axles had the nylon bushes welded with rust to them so the front wheel would not turn at all on loose surfaces like sand and very reluctantly on tarmac. It probably didn't deserve it but i needed to prove Bratattacks wrong and show him you can polish a turd. The body is actually quite nicely painted and the only repair needed was a bit of glue on the split wing. I dont think it's been run much in the past just probably got a bit of seawater on it at some point then just left to corrode.
I stripped it down cleaned, de-rusted the corroded parts greased them and the gearbox, fully ballraced it, added some nice associated RC10 shocks (worth more than the car lol) and finally added a stock 27t motor. It still is a bit naff but everything works as good as it ever will do. I was going to install a 19t motor but after spotting it actually has plastic dogbones thought better of it.

go on give it some abuse you know you want to! I think I only ran it 4 or 5 times then it just sat in the spare room slowly rusting, lol

There are just 15 of these in the club. Your part of an exclusive club on TC. Quick go forth and start an SIG. 'Tamiya Fever' actually restored one.
